Tournament Structure

The tournament consists of two stages.

Qualifying Stage

Each participant plays 3 ranked games.

All games are played with 4 players per table.

Organizers will make reasonable efforts to minimize repeat matchups between players.

If the total number of participants is not divisible by four, organizers may schedule additional games for certain players. In such cases, organizers will announce in advance which games count toward the player's ranking.

A tournament ranking is created based on the results of the three qualifying games.

Final

The four players with the highest number of tournament points after the qualifying stage advance to the Final.

The Final consists of a single game of Terraforming Mars played under the same rules as the qualifying stage.

The winner of the Final becomes the winner of the tournament.

Players finishing second, third, and fourth in the Final will take the corresponding places in the final tournament standings.

03

Time Limit

The time limit for each game is 4 hours.

If the time limit is reached:

  1. The current generation is completed.
  2. One additional full generation is played.
  3. The game then ends and final scoring is performed.
04

Ties and Tournament Points

Ties Within a Game

If two or more players finish a game with the same number of Victory Points (VP), the higher place is awarded to the player with more MegaCredits.

If players remain tied after comparing MegaCredits, they are considered tied for that position.

If players share a position, each player receives the tournament points assigned to that position.

Position Tournament Points
1st 5
2nd 3
3rd 2
4th 1

Determining Finalists

If two or more players have the same number of tournament points after the qualifying stage, the following tiebreakers are applied:

  1. Total Victory Points (VP) across all qualifying games.
  2. Number of first-place finishes.
  3. Number of second-place finishes.

If the tiebreakers are still insufficient to determine the finalists, the organizers will make the final decision.

05

Game Result Sheet

A scoring sheet is used for every tournament game.

After the game ends, players complete the result sheet together, including:

  • player name;
  • corporation;
  • TR;
  • points from Awards;
  • points from Milestones;
  • points from Greeneries;
  • points from Cities;
  • points from Cards;
  • total VP.

The completed result sheet is considered the official result of the game and must be submitted to the organizers.

06

Player Conduct

Participants are expected to:

  • follow the rules;
  • maintain a friendly atmosphere;
  • avoid intentionally slowing down the game;
  • treat fellow players and organizers with respect.

The following are prohibited:

  • coaching from spectators;
  • external assistance when making game decisions;
  • unsportsmanlike conduct.
07

Mistakes, Rollbacks, and Disputes

Mistakes and Rollbacks

If a gameplay mistake is discovered, players must immediately notify the organizers.

If the mistake can be corrected without significantly affecting subsequent decisions, organizers may perform a rollback.

Rollbacks may be performed during the next player's turn, provided that no significant actions have been taken that could affect player decisions.

If a fair rollback is not possible, organizers will determine the most appropriate resolution.

Disputes

In situations where the rules, official FAQs, or official clarifications do not provide a clear answer, the organizers will make the final ruling.

Organizer decisions are final.
